Genius? Calm down now... It's an incredibly traditional play that happens to have extremely solidly-written characters and a equally solid story, that actually hinges upon some really creaky (and not exactly original) contrivances when you think about it...

The bigger and better trick is that you absolutely don't think about it cos you're too busy having fun watching it. Right play, right place, right time (well, could have been put on a couple of months later to be absolutely seasonal...)

i've found it very entertaining to read through your blog and feel I share some of your opinions. I am norwegian and I used to live in london for many years. There I got a serious addiction to the theatre. Where I live now there is no such thing...only fjords... I'm coming over at the end of october for a week. I'm planning to go bananas and see everything I possibly can. I have got some tickets already booked, but if someone could recommend something I would be extremely happy.
